An Updated Message from our President Regarding COVID-19
Dear JVI Partners,
There is no industry more resilient than the food industry. I am so impressed by the strength and flexibility our trading partners have shown during this tumultuous time. Having spent a lifetime in the produce industry, I should have known just how strong we could be.
Many of our team members have been touched in one way or another by Covid-19 and its ripple effects. However, those that were able have continued to work hard every day to provide uninterrupted service through this crisis. We have implemented new procedures that expand upon our SQF Food Safety program to minimize the risk to staff and customers while in our facility. Some of the new policies that will continue as reopening moves forward include:
- Enhanced sanitation procedures
- Touchpoint sanitation through the workday
- Mandatory face masks in our facility
- Increased frequency of handwashing requirements
- Social distancing in breakrooms and shared spaces
- Limited visitors and restricted travel for staff
- Staff temperature checks as needed
- Adherence to CDC Guidelines and best practices
Our growers are harvesting, our coolers are full, and our trucks are on the road. JVI buyers are working to ensure you have the product you need. Please remember that certain highly perishable foodservice items such as baby leaves, microgreens, and edible flowers remain special order until markets stabilize. Our Repacking and Ripening Teams are ready to support new programs based on your changing needs. If you are developing contact-less products or services, home delivery boxes, or meal kits, please call or email us to discuss capabilities and pricing.
If you shop our PWPM Market Store, please find our current hours here. We continue to operate 24 hours a day (except Saturday) for shipping and receiving. We encourage customers to place orders via phone, text, or email in advance to minimize the time spent inside our facility. And please remember: face masks are mandatory when inside the PWPM and JVI – including our store, loading docks, and warehouse.
