English Peas

Fresh English Peas are encased by a large, bright-green pod. The pod is too fibrous to be eaten, so it must be shelled to get to the plump peas within. The peas are tender yet crunchy with a sweet flavor. English peas are quite healthy as they contain high levels of vitamins A and B, as well as calcium, zinc, iron, and potassium. They also boast phytonutrients which offer anti-inflammatory properties. These delicate peas can be eaten raw, included in salads or seasonal pastas, and can be blended into sauces.
