Mango, Kent

Sweet, rich, and tropical with aromatic overtones, the Kent mango lends itself to both sweet an savory dishes.  The fruit is consistent in size and has a great shelf life. This cultivar of mango stems from the Totapuri mango in India.  It is coveted for its sweet and nearly fiberless flesh. They tend to be a bit more soft and wrinkly when ripe compared to other round varietals.  Kent mangoes are dark green and often have a dark red blush over a small portion of mango. Our primary grower of Kent mangoes are located in Peru, but we also get some from Mexico. Try pairing the mango with avocado. Eaten out of hand as well, they can be enjoyed with some chili powder sprinkled on top.
