DECEMBER 4th-6th – The Eastern Produce Council and Produce Business Magazine have once again presented an exciting world-class event for the northeast region called the NY Produce Show. This year’s show took place at New York’s Pier 94, on Manhattan’s West Side Highway in midtown. The three day event encompassed networking opportunities, a trade show of over 400 companies, info-sessions and tours of the industry. Local retailers along with wholesalers, food service distributors, unique eateries and urban farms had an opportunity to connect and “Celebrate Fresh.”
This conference not only included food retailers and distributors, but students from regional universities as well. A select few students in the Food Marketing Program at Saint Joseph’s University, and students from several other universities, had the opportunity to attend this event and participate in all the events offered. The NY Produce Show not only provides students with networking opportunities, but the chance to ask questions and fully immerse themselves in the produce industry.
The NY Produce Show held a variety of events over the three day span. The tradeshow provided companies with a non-stop opportunity to meet and interact with the industry’s leading produce and floral suppliers. Other events in the show included demos and new product showings, culinary innovation stations, surprise appearances of famous chefs, and more.
John Vena, the president of John Vena Inc., had the opportunity to attend this event and provided some insight on his experiences there. “The NY Produce Show represents real value for our Company because it focuses on the produce business that is being done in our area and allows us to connect more directly with customers, prospective customers and suppliers in an efficient way.”
