On December 3, over 5,000 produce buyers and sellers gathered at the 5th annual New York produce Show and Conference, hosted by Produce Business Magazine and the Eastern Produce Council. There were 410 different booths present at the show inside the Jacob Javits Center. Exhibiting companies included everything from local farms to national distributors.
John Vena, Inc. sales representatives James Demarsh and Erin Gallagher (pictured on right), along with president John Vena, attended the show on Wednesday, representing the company as well as the Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market.
This year’s event drew a record number of attendees, ranking it the second largest Produce Industry Exposition in the country. Attendees have especially liked the one-day expo format because it allows them to be back at the office, or the farm, by the next day.
On Thursday morning, a group of about 20 visitors took a trip to the Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market, sponsored by The New York Produce Show to learn more about the industry in Philadelphia, after spending a day at the Show in New York. Visitors were given a grand tour of the market, and spent some quality time inside the John Vena, Inc. facilities on the Market. Visitors were able to pick the brains of John Vena, Inc. salesmen and take a look inside the company’s sales, repacking and ripening rooms.
